This month, to celebrate Mother’s Day, we wanted to talk with a mom that has first-hand experience raising a family in Great Sky! Great Sky has a lot to offer, and we want you to hear why our residents love it – from themselves. From their favorite amenities to why they chose Great Sky, check out the Q&A below from Jennifer Bohrer’s perspective on living in Great Sky!
Q: How long have you lived in Great Sky?
A: My family and I have lived in Great Sky since 2016!
Q: What drove your initial decision to live in Great Sky?
A: When deciding where to plant our roots, we looked at a bunch of places. We were moving to Canton from Tampa, so when we moved here, it was important to us to find a strong community. We really love the water aspect of Great Sky! The community’s access to Hickory Log Creek and all the nature excursions surrounding is incredible. Plus, the amenities are wonderful! It’s a beautiful neighborhood to be in.
Q: What are your favorite amenities in Great Sky?
A: They’re all so great – it’s so hard to choose! However, we love spending time as a family at the pool! Also, we spend lots of time on the basketball or tennis courts – and all the walking trails! They’re all too good to just pick one!
Q: What is the biggest perk to living in a master-planned community for yourself/ your family?
A: Great Sky was so intentionally designed; it’s got everything we would want! It’s a great place for children and to raise a family in general. We love the variety of amenities and family-fun events that are put on by our Lifestyle Director. In addition, Canton has a phenomenal school system that makes raising a family here a no-brainer.
Q: How is the experience of raising a family in Great Sky?
A: It’s been wonderful! As I’ve alluded to throughout, there’s always a lot to do. The people we have met here are amazing, too. Everyone is always extremely helpful, friendly, and welcoming.
Q: What does your family like to do on the weekends in Great Sky or the surrounding towns/area?
A: We love participating in the many events in Great Sky put on by our Lifestyle Director! We also love how close it is to downtown Canton and The Mill. Living here, it’s easy to pop down for dinner, the farmers market, or whatever community event is happening!
Q: What builder built your home in Great Sky? Why did you choose that builder/floor plan?
A: We are in a Ryland home. It’s beautiful – we built it custom and think it was built extremely well! It is original to Great Sky, and we chose this home for its unique characteristics.
